Over 40% of kicks sold online are fakes. Be cautious when buying sneakers on Ebay or any other auction site. Online stores and organizations based in the Far East and South Africa are common culprits. Ask sellers if you can get a large photo of the sneakers you plan to buy and then examine logo placements and materials used to make the shoe. Some imitation manufacturers leave slight flaws to let you know without words that you are not buying the real thing.
