Vans Has Huge Fans in Portugal

I´ve been scouring the streets of Portugal since late last week and it's hard not to notice the abundance of Vans on the feet of youngsters here. Vans obviously has figured out that sneaker color and individual designs are what the Portuguese crave. So they've capitalized on it. I've met Portuguese teens who told me they like Chucks (a distant second in popularity here), but they aren't offered in the same wild prints as Vans.

Based on my observations, dressing up like Hello Kitty, Goth, and Emo is the trend here in Portugal. The Portuguese also show their personality with a carefully selected pair of loud and colorful sneakers.

Vans is doing well here in Portugal because they aren't afraid to release different colorways and designs. At the same time, the little-known brands are right on Vans heels as they replicate and make their own significant impact on the soles and feet of Portugal's sneaker-freaks.
